Acts 16

This project runs concurrent with the 16 Days of Activism "STOP" the abuse!

This project started due to the discovery of the quota for men verse women and children who are being abused alike. In order to restore dignity we decided to take this head on and to highlight and encourage open discussion on abuse in communities which covers all aspects and not just to single out the women although very pertinent to the cause. We have identified 16 prominent abuses for which we have started investigating and discussing these abuses over the past four years in "All White" fundraising events.

These manuals are a tool to help identify people in need and provide the tools on how to help them. We know it will have an impact and make a difference and help many. We strive to provide an environment that all will feel safe in their groups to talk and share their views on the topics that are considered taboo in society.

In 2014, we held our first All White High Tea Fundraiser in Malmesbury where we introduced our ACTS 16 project Malmesbury. We again held an All White High Tea Fundraiser in Ottery in 2015 for our ACTS 16 project. In 2016, due to its popularity, we held two All White High Tea Fundraisers, one in Malmesbury and the other in Cape. Both events had three dynamic women speaking about how they had overcome abuse.

In 2015, Family Policy Institute Founder and President: Errol Naidoo addressed the issues on family matters and shared the platform with his wife Arlene. Brian Adams, Ulrich and Devina from the Sheriff's office also shared the platform as Terri Hannie further presented the cause.

In 2016, All White Fundraiser at both campuses the platform was shared with Fay Nqoloba, Illse Rontgen and the self-defence display. These fundraisers are for the project: Acts 16 STOP the abuse of men, women and children as each one shared their incredible testimony. We were most grateful for everyone who attended and showed their support to the Project. A few ladies from Women of Substance SA team gave short testimonies on how the have overcome hardship by showing "No Retreat No Surrender".

In 2017, we will launch our ACTS 16 Campaign at the All White Brunch 'No Retreat – No Surrender" Fundraiser scheduled for 25th November 2017 at the River Club.
