What we do

KTD193 runs various programs through forums for Men, Women and Children which are designed to enable them to make the necessary changes needed whilst transferring skills that would meet their material needs or thrust them into their chosen profession/career in terms of reaching their dream, in essence-change their destiny. Unemployment and household income levels are very low and crime rates are very high with statistics showing that young men between the ages of fifteen to twenty five are the main perpetrators of most of the crime experienced in the poorer areas.

KTD 193 aims to render a service to communities that will bring back a zest for life and a certainty of knowing that they are not alone in all that they face and that it is possible to bring about change. In order to achieve this type of peace we need only believe that all things are possible for them that believe. In most situations there are perceptions that people's lives are not repairable, but we at KTD 193 believe there is HOPE in every situation, no matter how bad it seems. Our sustainability and continued good name is ensured simply because we have stepped out in faith and have drawn like minded people with the necessary drive and dedication to do the much needed work and be the hand of compassion.

Projects

Children's Programmes

"Adopt a child" this programme is designed for those who are not able to attend school due to no/lack of funds through parents being unemployed. We follow the holistic approach whereby we pay for their school fees, provide for their needs to enable them to go to school with dignity. In this process we source donors in various employment sectors offering full scholarships and bursaries ensuring security of employment after completion of study. We network with other NGO's for youth programmes in sport and recreation and taking them on holiday retreats. We aim at having obstacle courses, various ball games and more at the centre.

House of Refuge and Restoration

As part of our 2020 Vision it is our aim to house, clothe and feed abused women and children, restore family values by loving and counseling them to bring stability and growth. In our experience and research we've discovered that many of the abused persons have such a broken spirit that it takes patience and counseling one on one for this type of restoration to take place. We encourage group work and put them through the classes of HOPE to help them through the process. We also encourage them to do a skills class if they are unskilled in order to become self sufficient We have to provide a day care service for the children when the mother is placed in a job and until they are strong and independent to move on their own.

The Food bank Project

Our daily feeding programmes are designed at meeting the immediate need where hot meals and food parcels are provided where possible.

Conferences, Seminars, Workshops and Information Sessions

We have workshops conferences and seminars in the various communities where we cover issues of addiction, crime, devastating effects of divorce on adults and children, single parenting/step parenting; marriage seminars; preparation/counseling; Leadership and various camps. This is ongoing.

We will continue to bring information through quarterly community information sessions, publications, posters, media, banners and other means. In doing this, we will reach families in our communities, our city and nations at large. Our motto remains 'We may not be able to reach the world, but we can touch those whom we can!' You may not reach the people we reach, but your gift of unwanted household goods, food, clothing, bequests or wills, these will make room for you – it will touch and transform lives and make a huge impact which will make you a partner in their restoration
