About Woman of Substance

From Brokeness to Wholeness

About Us

To me, a person of substance is one whose life has been so drastically impacted by God that it should be the very driving force for being a person of tenacity. One who may or may not have gone through hardships and even if he/she didn't "win" still comes out stronger, smarter and wiser; one who supports others and no matter what the cost they still lead -- despite what others think or say. A person who "uses" their life as a living testimony ... who by no means is a spectator but a participator as is a part of the solution as opposed to the problem.

What we Do

We run various programs through forums for Men, Women, Children and Families including the blended ones, as a unit which are designed to enable them to make the necessary changes needed whilst transferring skills that would meet their material needs or thrust them into their chosen profession/career in terms of reaching their dream, in essence-change their destiny.

Unemployment and household income levels are very low and crime rates are very high with statistics showing that young men between the ages of thirteen to twenty five are the main perpetrators of most of the crime experienced in the poorer areas. Our aims to render a service to communities that give them hope and a new zeal for life and a certainty of knowing that they are not alone in all that they face and that change is possible.

In order to achieve this type of peace we need only believe that all things are possible for them that believe. In most situations there are perceptions that people's lives are not repairable, but we believe there is HOPE in every situation, no matter how bad it seems. We have stepped out in faith and draw like minded people with passion and dedication to do the much needed work and be the hand.

How can I become a part of Women of Substance?

To me, a person of substance is one whose life has been so drastically impacted by God that it should be the very driving force for being a person of tenacity. One who may or may not have gone through hardships and even if he/she didn't "win" still comes out stronger, smarter and wiser; one who supports others and no matter what the cost they still lead -- despite what others think or say. A person who "uses" their life as a living testimony ... who by no means is a spectator but a participator as is a part of the solution as opposed to the problem." Just on a more personal note, as Women of Substance partners and ambassadors, we need to understand our role OUTSIDE of the team or even the committee is Just as important as that of WITHIN. Meaning that ultimately, I believe we need to stand as role models showing our commitment to the cause in caring, imparting skills - grooming, coaching and/or mentoring as we continue in our quest 'each one – make one'! Be all the man/woman God intended you to be. Each one coming into our events are God's hidden treasures and should be treated as such. Whatever we do, whatever we portray, others need to look in and say "I want to be a part of that" My view is that we are a support structure for those in need and that they must WANT to come to every event because our focus is on THEM, reaching their full potential in Christ and not on ourselves. We are not in a popularity contest but the win the lost and advance His Kingdom by yielding to the Holy Spirit. In His love....always
